This project consists of two interrelated “routes.”
First, by randomly drawing index cards, I followed their instructions to reach a specific book in the library, creating a physical path driven by chance.
Then, I input the starting and ending points of this path into p5.js, which generated a 100-step random route based on the rule of rolling dice every ten steps to decide the direction.
The 100th page of the corresponding book was scanned and archived according to my self-created index card sequence. By juxtaposing the chance-based physical trajectory with the algorithmically generated path, the project establishes a connection between chance, knowledge, and image.
