This is a visualization of my story. I wanted it to resemble a board game for the playfulness, but also to emphasize the joy of the journey to buying an envelope as opposed to buying online.
This is a collage to represent the depth and vibrance of the physical world. I wanted to draw a contrast with the digital world by adding in pixels. The is my most high-level, abstract artifact I created by extracting the theme from the story. The first is an embroidered, foil envelope that I created to show the excitement and possibility that can come from engaging with the physical world. My story tells about the author going to the newsstand to buy an envelope and I wanted to show the actual and intangible byproducts of this action, especially in contrast to my next artifact which is just a cardboard box with the order confirmation. It is anticlimactic and empty in comparison to the experience associated with the envelope. This represents the alternative of buying online.
