Project Description

This project explores the connection between urban infrastructure and living systems through green infrastructure data collected within one kilometer of Bedford Ave and Myrtle Ave in Brooklyn. Each dataset becomes a layer — a piece of the city’s living surface. By translating environmental data into an interactive visual language, the work turns invisible systems into a landscape that feels alive that constantly rippling, breathing, and growing. Every click creates ripples that move across the screen. Leaves and petals fall and slowly build up at the bottom, forming a layer of digital soil. As users interact, their actions leave visible traces, these marks accumulate over time, creating another visual layer that records the presence of people. The project explore how small, scattered green infrastructures — rain gardens, rooftop farms, bioswales — together form the city’s green skin: a living, layered surface that protects the city while letting it breathe and renew itself.
