Project Description
Crescent Moon’s is an interactive installation that transforms the quiet rhythm of the moon into a living projection. By using coding in p5.js, the work generates 24 phases of the moon, each blending seamlessly into the next, so the crescent waxes, wanes, and glows with a natural fluidity. Projected on a large scale, the moon becomes both a visual presence and an emotional companion in space for audience interaction. The experience unfolds through layers of sound and text. At its center is a simple phrase: “You are my crescent moon.” This line serves as both a dedication to the audience and a reminder of how affection, like the lunar cycle, is ever-changing yet eternal. The projection is accompanied by background music drawn from Crescent Moon’s Wish, a song written by the 9 members of &TEAM, a Japanese boys group, for their fans, LUNÉ. This song, woven into the installation, anchors the project in themes of devotion, connection, and gratitude. By merging generative visuals, poetic language, and music, the project becomes more than a digital experiment. It is a moment of intimacy, an invitation to pause, to look upward, and to feel the quiet resonance of the moon as both a celestial body and a symbol of care, memory, and longing.
