Project Description

Beginning with hand sanitizer as a familiar everyday material, I extracted five sensory and physical qualities: liquid, scented, sticky, volatile, and wet. Each keyword became the starting point for a series of drawings that explored its visual associations through texture, movement, density, and form. I then isolated elements from these drawings and subjected them to processes of distortion, repetition, cropping, reconstruction, and abstraction. Through this gradual transformation, the images moved away from their original references and developed into independent visual forms. The project explores the process of translation—from material experience to language, from language to image, and from image to abstraction.
